I’m a journalist focused on audience engagement and news product development. I work as a newsletter intern at Block Club Chicago, a hyperlocal nonprofit newsroom, where I design email campaigns and develop strategies to connect neighborhood reporting with readers. I also look for ways to incorporate cartography and data into the news. I’m a senior at DePaul University, graduating in June 2026.

Previously, I served as Digital Managing Editor of The DePaulia, where I combined data, web presentation and news editing to build digital products that strengthened audience engagement. In that role, I received a Peter Lisagor Award for deadline reporting on DePaul’s protest encampment.

WhatsApp Channel

Created a WhatsApp channel for Block Club Chicago to deliver urgent immigration news to Chicagoans most affected by escalating federal enforcement. The project has been lauded by The Knight Foundation, American Journalism Project, Newspack and the Northwestern Medill Midwest Solutions Journalism Lab. Read more about the project.

Student Innovation Competition, Reynolds Institute for Journalism

Selected to develop a series of immigration “newsfluencer” videos and an email series designed to help Chicagoans understand immigration enforcement and support immigrant neighbors. Working with Block Club Chicago, immigration lawyers and community groups, the project focuses on delivering clear, community-centered updates through social media and newsletters.
